News 28th April: The date for the Classics Garden Party has been set for the 18th June (the Friday of May Week) News 27th April: We are in the process of updating the website, so please bear with us as we sort out any glitches. Salve! Welcome to the website of the Herodoteans, the student society for the Faculty of Classics at the University of Cambridge. Our aim is to promote Classics both within the Faculty and throughout the University, and to provide a friendly social forum for students to explore Classics beyond the curriculum. We host a variety of events ranging from academic talks, which break the boundaries of traditional topics, to social events, including the infamous toga-clad Dionysiac pub crawl and the sumptuous annual dinner. Check out the Events diary for more information. The new Classics newsletter is now available - download it from our Newsletter page. Students in the Classics Faculty are automatically invited to join the Herodoteans, while students from other faculties and on related courses are also welcome to join or to attend relevant events. It's free to join the Herodoteans: just turn up to an event or contact a member of the committee for more information. The Glory that was Greece and the Grandeur that was Rome awaits! |
